Hey, just a wee note to say Happy New Year and give everyone a heads up on the impending work at Little Belmont Street. We will be closing from the 8th of January until 10am on the Friday the 13th (kilau’s 8th Birthday!!) Whilst we are closed, we will be mostly doing painting and plumbing and trying to smarten up those pesky toilets. We are hoping that 2012 will be a great year for kilau, we got confirmation of our building warrant for the high street shop in mid december, so we are hoping to start work on the upstairs early January too!
I hope this year brings everyone what they hope for, and look forward to seeing you in one of the shops soon.
Introducing the first exhibition of work by Alan Davidson in over 30 years! The opening night will include a live set by Kitchen Cynic to compliment the pieces on display.
This special exhibition will run from Monday 10th October to Saturday 7th January.
Private view Sunday 9th from 8pm – 10pm with music from 9pm.
Kilau will be closed all day Sunday, but open as usual on Monday morning!
It’s a little known fact that workmen, like Gremlins, should be kept dry at all times. It was in the best interest of the city, then, that ours took the day off and stayed out of the rain (we’ve all seen the film). It does mean there was no progress today. Boo.
This could have been disastrous for example!
Fingers crossed for sunnier days!
p.s. Don’t feed workmen after midnight either. You have been warned.
Rain and levelling sand do not mix, but soldier on they did!
And slabs were even humphed in!
Today was a day of piles of sand.
Lasers. Pew pew!
Hit it with a stick!
We can haz fence posts. And a small wall.
Fighting weeds or catching ghosts.
Well look at this, people! Some progress is being made on the non-warrantable work!
This is the start of what will be the beautiful patio area of our back garden. Fun times!
