Friday Night Noise – The Aftermath!

Wow! From the hypnotic pulses of Bill Thompson, thru to the mircophone chomping of Spectral Fairground, and the guitar smashing incense burning Matricarian Cult of Balvak, it was quite a night!

Below are a few photos pinched from our very own Ry Walker’s flickr site (with his permission!)

The most listened to music – March 2009

Well, it would appear that we’ve only been listening to a couple things this month. So much for variety in the work place!

In reverse order…

(Song Title/Artist – Album)

10. The Fix/Elbow – The Seldom Seen Kid

9. The Loneliness of a Tower Crane Driver/Elbow – The Seldom Seen Kid

8. The Bones of You/Elbow – The Seldom Seen Kid

7. An Audience With The Pope/Elbow – The Seldom Seen Kid

6. Starlings/Elbow – The Seldom Seen Kid

5. One Day Like This/Elbow – The Seldom Seen Kid

4. Weather To Fly/Elbow – The Seldom Seen Kid

3. Grounds For Divorce/Elbow – The Seldom Seen Kid

2. Mirrorball/Elbow – The Seldom Seen Kid

1. Dead Ringer for Love/Meatloaf – Bat Out Of Hell

What? Dead Ringer for Love? Meatloaf? What?! So, clearly listening to Elbow but not as much as Meatloaf! Wonderful!

Some others we’ve been listening to but didn’t make it to the hallowed top 10 are the lovely Rozi Plain, the wonderful Elvis Perkins and the delightful Amplifico!

Play count reset! New list next month!

n.b. I did plan to have a whole thing going on here but I’ve not had the chance to set it up yet. Would it be worthwhile, do you think? I was thinking about changing the format of this to give a broader view of what we listen to at the shop by listing the 10 most played artist and the most played song by that artist. Too much? Discuss.

Photos of Sunday…

Hello, hello!

I have a couple of photos from the gig on Sunday 8th. I took a couple myself with my rubbishy Olympus but without a tripod, or any real photo skills, they didn’t come out so great. Then the battery died. Not good. Thankfully there was someone a touch more professional there, one Sam Brill. Sam is a 22 year old, Aberdeen based photographer who specializes in portraiture. He has kindly given me permission to post some of his pictures of the night here. For more information about Sam, and to see more of his work, take a look at his website!

Thanks again to Sam for the photos!
