Yorkshire author and kilau approved nice guy, Simon, has put together a book covering some the British Isles’ many cathedrals and coffee shops. It is available as an ebook currently and will be out in hard copy later in the year. We will have a few copies in the shop for sale in the autumn, but until then check it out at http://www.troubador.co.uk/book_info.asp?bookid=2364

kilau are hiring!
Hi all,
In time for the new term, kilau are looking to bulk up our staffing levels so that we a raring to go in time for freshers. We are looking to take on either 1 full time member of staff or two part time (20+hrs) to work in our takeaway and upstairs in our restaurant. Swathes of catering experience is not essential, but obviously, if you are a super-double awesome barista or the undisputed sandwich champion of the world, then we’d like to hear from you. chuck us your C.V at info@kilaucoffee.com or pop in to the shop with a copy soon. xx

Happy New Year!
Hey, just a wee note to say Happy New Year and give everyone a heads up on the impending work at Little Belmont Street. We will be closing from the 8th of January until 10am on the Friday the 13th (kilau’s 8th Birthday!!) Whilst we are closed, we will be mostly doing painting and plumbing and trying to smarten up those pesky toilets. We are hoping that 2012 will be a great year for kilau, we got confirmation of our building warrant for the high street shop in mid december, so we are hoping to start work on the upstairs early January too!
I hope this year brings everyone what they hope for, and look forward to seeing you in one of the shops soon.
c xx

The passing of an old friend.
After nearly 7 years of continual service our poor, hard working Rancilio Epoca has poured it’s last espresso. Out of honour and respect for our coffee making champion I have put together a little video for you’re viewing pleasure. Try not to shed a tear…
We won’t mourn too long tho. Being the fickle bunch that we are we’ve quickly replaced it with an all singing, all dancing, Macco E9. We look forward to making beautiful coffee together!

No excuses.
Well it’s been a funny old time of late and my neglect of this blog, of Twitter and other such interweb activities continues. Inexcusable.
This is just a quick post to say that kilau, little belmont street will be closed from 6pm Saturday 27th March until lunch time Monday 29th March. There are a few things happening this weekend; there will be a new exhibition of work by Sarah J. Stanley gracing our walls, and there will also be a refit of our kitchen with (hopefully) the introduction of a couple of new menu items!
Busy times!
