What was that? You haven’t heard anything new about the back garden? It doesn’t mean things haven’t been done. Check out this heap of photos!
Some soil enriching compost. (Thanks Dad!)
I broke the fork. I’m putting this down to my super strength rather than buying cheap tools. Right?
Some finely turned soil.
Mum plan ding up the garden like a champ! All the plants here have been gifted to us by the wonderful Diana – cuttings from her own garden no less! Cheers Diana!
A cracking job and looking brilliant!
And we may also have bought us some chairs! Its getting closer, folks!
Some rather nice chuckies.
This is pretty much it, folks. Now we just need to get some furniture.
Pretty good, huh?
And here is our first plant! A lovely lavender from Ian from MacBeans! Cheers, Ian!
This sinister beast, borrowed from Phil, is what’s going to hopefully solve our furniture issues. I’m going to try my hand at making some tables and chairs!
The important thing is respect it, not fear it. Even if it does seem to creep closer to you when your back is turned…
Phil, you’re awesome!
Craig likes it.
And from a saucy alternate angle.
A sturdy gate.
Easy access to sheds and storage.
And a sneaky little bench!
Tidied boarder, capped wall, finished slab work and lock block! Yes!
The other wall has been capped too!
Now who wouldn’t want to play with one of these?
A bit more fencing to be done.
Looking forward to a coffee in the beautiful dappled sunlight!
Rain has suspended play for the day.
Come on Scottish summer, help us out here.
The start of the day.
Cement. That is all.
Slab work, done!
Stand back, boy. This is a mans tool.
Lock block border looking fine!
It’s a little known fact that workmen, like Gremlins, should be kept dry at all times. It was in the best interest of the city, then, that ours took the day off and stayed out of the rain (we’ve all seen the film). It does mean there was no progress today. Boo.
This could have been disastrous for example!
Fingers crossed for sunnier days!
p.s. Don’t feed workmen after midnight either. You have been warned.
The end of the week for the builders and your daily garden update!
Panorama app working a bit better (or I’m getting a bit better at using it)
Dana inspecting the work.
A fine looking patio ideal for sipping coffee…
Or recreating everyone’s favourite late 80′s kids programme, Knightmare! (look it up, children)
Day seven and the slab work continues!
Now, I’m not sure what’s happened here, they updated the panorama app and now it’s not so good.
The belly of the beast!
Phil is a machine and coffee is his fuel!
Tools of the trade.
A nearly finished corner!
Rain and levelling sand do not mix, but soldier on they did!
And slabs were even humphed in!
